This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. What’s your Everest? A question that invites everyone to a session of introspection.
For Adrian Fako, this introspection lead up to a trip to the Himalayas and to the ascent on the highest peak in the world, the Everest. “Why doing such a thing? Well, why not?”
A lesson of how to surpass all human and natural barriers for your ultimate goal and then how to protect your team with the price of your dream.
“There are no such things as bad or good things in life; it’s just a matter of attitude”, he says.
Despite all fatalities that occurred on Everest in 2014, in April 2014, Adrian Fako, with Tibi Adrian Pintilie and the support team composed of Oana Harabagiu Gabriel Motica, started an expedition on the North side of Everest, becoming the youngest Romanian contingent that has ever tried to climb the highest mountain of the world.
Adrian Fako is a young Romanian entrepreneur remarkable above all, for his love for high mountain alpinism. In April 2014, along with Tibi Adrian Pintilie and the support team composed of Oana Harabagiu Gabriel Motica, he went on an expedition on the north side of Everest, becoming the youngest Romanian contingent that has ever tried to climb the highest mountain of the world. A few days after their departure, 20 climbers and sherpas were caught in an avalanche triggered on the western side of the mountain. A total of 16 dead persons and many injured, turned 2014 in a black year in the history of mountaineering. These grim premise could not stop the four brave daredevils to fulfill their dream of arriving on the top of the world. Adrian comes at TEDxBacau to tell us how to push the limits, how to overcome obstacles, what’s the taste of success and how it feels the bitter taste of failure at only 200m from the top, how to breath the last drop of oxygen, how to recognize your limits and how to choose the right thing to do for you and your team.
